Program overview
Our part-time, evening teacher certification program is for college graduates and career changers seeking to obtain their initial teaching certificate provides candidates the opportunity to earn their initial K-6 teaching certification while working with students in classrooms. The program can be completed in just three semesters (16 months), and includes a full-time student teaching experience in the final semester.

Rider offers a streamlined program of professional studies that combines the best of theory, research, and practice.
Highlights include:
- Take two or three courses per semester with classes in the late afternoon or evening.
- Student teach full-time in your last semester.
- Meet the requirements to receive a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.
- Transfer all of your certification credits (21 -24 credits) from the Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification program into the 30-credit Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree.
