Rider is the first academic library in the state to offer its students access to the app

Rider鈥檚 University Libraries are offering a new way for students, faculty and staff to gain free access to ebooks and audiobooks through an app called . The app provides immediate access to more than 19,000 titles in the New Jersey State Library collection and expands the University Libraries 鈥楻eading for Fun' offerings. Rider鈥檚 Franklin F. Moore Library is the first academic library in the state to take part in this initiative.
One of the goals of The Palace Project is to provide equitable access to digital knowledge.
鈥淩eading or listening for fun is a great way to gain knowledge, to reflect, or to transform your thinking,鈥 says Associate Professor-Librarian Dr. Sharon Whitfield. 鈥淲hen Rider students are using this app and reading and listening outside the classroom, they are learning; they are exciting their imaginations to engage in thought and action.鈥
is available on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets. After patrons download the app, they can search for their library and create a virtual library card. Ebooks and audiobooks can be checked out for 20 days. If materials are not returned early, they automatically return on their due date.
